Bored but not forgetful

It's been hard to focus, with my mind still drifting to the fact that I'M GOING TO DISNEY in less than 2 month, though I am here and there and stuck in boring classes.

I honestly can't wait. Keep getting emails about Disney guidelines about the "Disney Look." Also keep hearing extra emphasis on sticking to this guideline, or you can be sent home. D:
So, um... Add 1 more thing of "making my list and checking it twice."

The guidelines are pretty stringent:

(Here is what the shortened version looks like, but there is much MUCH more.)

The Disney Look Guidelines upon Arrival

Please keep in mind that it is expected that you are in complete compliance with all of the Disney Look guidelines when you check-in. This includes, but is not limited to:

* Removing all body piercings (including cartilage piercings and tongue rings).

* Covering all visible tattoos.

* Hair Colors and Styles.
If hair color is changed, it should appear natural. If it's highlighted, the highlights must be very subtle, only 1 or 2 shades away from the main color, well-blended with the rest of the hair and over the entire head. If hair is two defined colors (including braids), if roots are visible, or if the overall style or color does not appear natural, it will not meet the Disney Look guidelines. It will be up to you to change the color and/or style before beginning work.

Male Hair Styles
Hair must be neatly cut on the back and sides, forming a smooth, symmetrical appearance so that it does not extend beyond or cover any part of the ears or the shirt collar. Straight cornrows may be permitted, but the hair must still be cut above the collar. For detailed information about hair styles, please see the complete Disney Look guidelines.

Males must be clean shaven and fully within the guidelines regarding facial hair.

If you do not meet these requirements, you will not be permitted to obtain your housing ID.

Tattoos and Body Modification

During your interview, your recruiter discussed with you our company policies regarding tattoos and body modification.

Tattoos:
Contact your recruiter immediately if you have any additional tattoos since your interview since your role may change.

If you have tattoos that will not be covered by your costume (on your hand, wrist, neck, etc.), you will need to cover them with make-up designed for tattoo coverage (Dermablend, Covermark, etc.) by the time you arrive.

Only small tattoos (2"x2" or 5cm x 5cm) may be covered with make-up; please contact your recruiter if you have a large, visible tattoo that may not be covered by your costume or make-up.

Note: Make-up is not permitted to cover tattoos on the lower arms for Cast Members in Food & Beverage locations.

Failure to cover visible tattoos may result in disciplinary action, not excluding termination.

Body Modifications:
Our company also has strict guidelines about body modification. If you have any visible body modifications (including ear spacings), they will need to be completely healed and/or corrected before you arrive.

If you arrive with visible modifications, or if your ears are spaced, you will be immediately sent home.

Guidelines for Roles Associated with Food & Beverage

In order to maintain a safe and healthy environment and comply with Florida state-mandated regulatory food standards, all Cast Members hired to work in any Merchandise or Food & Beverage establishment that prepares and/or serves food and beverage, regardless of role, are required to:

* Keep fingernails trimmed and filed (not extended beyond the tip of the finger).

* Not wear fingernail polish and/or artificial nails.

* Not wear jewelry on arms or hands, including wristwatches and medical information jewelry. The exception is a plain (commitment/wedding) ring, without stones, engravings, raised designs or jagged edges. Acceptable options for medical jewelry include necklaces and ankle bracelets worn under costumes.

Disney Look Questions?

After reading the Disney Look guidelines, if you have Disney Look specific questions that require an answer prior to your arrival, or if you feel as though you cannot comply with any of the Disney Look guidelines, please contact the Cast Image and Appearance Team via e-mail at wdw.disney.look@disney.com.

Letter gone MIA

I actually made this picture and set it as my desktops wallpaper before I even got accepted.
Why?
My inspiration and hope of getting in.

Irony though?
I got my email of acceptance, but still no letter. LOL!
Starting to wonder if I will ever get it, but it doesn't quite matter. They emailed me EVERYTHING, so I don't quite need it. Though I would like my 3D glasses for the Timekeeper game, heehee. I'm not complaining though, I'm out of town now in Georgia, so can't check my mail for a week anyways. So close to Disney, yet so far away. Pretty silly, but I keep dreaming I am actually at Disney in my dorm room. When I wake up, I'm still in a foreign area, but no theme park to run through. o_O

I did do a smart thing though, thanks to my parents quick thinking. I packed most of the things I won't be able to bring on the plane, packed em in 2 containers and brought em down with me this trip. Then in May I will fly back here, and drive to Disney with the boxes. *thumbs up* Double good news is, my family is coming with me my first few days. I was expecting to do this all by my lonesome, cause when I first telling my parents about me getting into Disney... They weren't excited at all. Now they support me all the way. Glad for this change of heart! On day 3 of check in, I'll see if I can get em in the park, even if I can't spend the day with them. I sure hope I can get em in and let them have some fun! =D

Oh well, I reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaally want to be at Disney right now, but I will have most of the year to have fun and learn there. ^u^ I can't wait!

***Update***
Neighbor says my letter came in the mail, the same day I wrote this. XD Now I can read it when I get home.

Accepted

March 02, 2010.....

This Alice Got Accepted!

I will be doing Quick-Service Food & Beverage( and aim for animation classes) for Fall Advantage Program. My arriving date is May 19~
-No idea what it will be like. At first thought, I was sorta bummed that I didn't get any of my first choices. I am Very glad I wasn't sent to be a cleaning lady though(No offense, I just would hate that job),so I will make THE MOST of this. Besides, I have heard some good things about being in QSFB. Though, I wont post them till I find out if what they say is true for me or not, Lol.

All in all.....
I'M GOING TO DISNEY! I'M GOING TO DISNEY! I'M GOING TO DISNEY!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

(happy dances around the house)

I found out at school at the school library. I opened my email and saw... A second Disney email...
At first... I just stared at in disbelief. Then I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and clicked the email.

A ton of confetti might as well have rained from the heavens. Seeing the purple and the big, bold CONGRATULATIONS made me Gasp then sent me straight to cloud 9 in an instant.

Best day of my life. If you saw me with a big stupid grin on my face, and sort of walking in a daze all around college today, this would be the reason for it.

I will be posting more info soon. ;D *skips off*

The Waiting Game

So.. It has been... A full week. I know they said it could take 3-4 weeks. But this week has been the most painful. People interviewed around or at the same time getting their acceptance emails left and right... And you... You... Still waiting...
What's worse is, you start second guessing yourself... Your interview... Even what day it is of your wait. It feels like Day 7:Half an eternity. The wait is making me nervous and anxious. EEK!

So I turned to comedy. I've been watching Dane Cook and Jim Gaffigan. While giggling at some Weird Al songs and Flight of the Concord. I tried reading some of News but that is getting depressing, and I went to check out the facebook Disney group, and got even more antsy.

It is so painful. Even drawing isn't quite helping. Cause as the picture above shows, I just keep drawing and reflecting how stressed and mustering up hope.

But! I am hopeful! It is all I can do. Hopeful that I will walk to that mail box or open my email box, and SEE that purple Welcome that I have been waiting upon so much for!

(((Edit: While waiting, I got addicted to this game. So if you are worrying and fretting over that email, play it. The moment you get those anxiety attacks... PLAY IT! It will get your jitters out-
http://games.adultswim.com/robot-unicorn-attack-twitchy-online-game.html )))

Thank You Email

Got my Thank You email on February 22. I feel so happy, but now (February 23) I feel anxious. Seems like all the people who interviewed the same day, but for Food and Beverages, got their purple folders today. Me and some of my other friends who are waiting signed up for other things, and still got no word, but hopefully, that means they are taking extra time trying to figure which Attraction they are going to put us at. I rather they take their time for putting me to Attractions, than rushing me then sticking me at toilets. But I'm also to the point where I am happy that I will get in, no matter where they put me. The point will be "I'm in! And I will make the most of it! No matter what the situation!"

Hello, This Is Mickey Calling (The Phone Interview)

"Oh Google, You deserve an ode to your all powerful search engine of wisdom."
So me and google teamed up again, and became the most well sourced, knowledgeable, all knowing sentient of all time~ When it came to information on the phone interview... Too bad that I look back now, I gotta wonder if it did me a lick of good.
I was nervous waiting for Thursaday. Everday was ticking down, and google did help me alot, but my nervousness increased and increased till I was physically sick and head whirling. Then the day of the interview happened. I realised there was only one thing I could probably do to help.
Dance.
I danced away like no tomorrow.
I danced to "I Gotta Feeling," "Tik Tok," "DotA," "I Don't Feeling Like Dancin'," "Paparrazzi," and then collapsed into my computer chair all right before the interview. I was so pooped, I barely had enough energy to worry. Though, once 8 o' clock came, the butterflies in my stomach were doing their own parade.
My interviewer was named Christy(Christie? Kristie? Kristy? However you spell it)!
She was a little bit late, and seemed at the same time rushed as the interview went on.
~Answered through the normal questions of where I went to school at (apparently, no one knows where my college is at. The person who set up my interview, and the interviewer both had an equally tough time trying to figure out where it is.)
~Then she asked about if I had a live presentation or an internet one, and who was the presentator.
~A couple of other questions about If I am a U.S. citizen and if I were an international student.
~Then the famous "Why do you want to work for Disney, and what do you think this program can accomplish for you?" (I told her how I wanted to work for Disney as an animator or for the storyboad team, and she commented "That's great! This would be like a foot in the door for you then, to start your career." Yes ma'am, it sure would be for me. =DDD)
~Did I have the Disney look? Tatoos is basically what she was looking for.
~Her other questions though seemed to zoom on by real fast. Did I want fall or fall advantage program (fall advantage, for me! :DDDD)
~What was my past job like?
~What did I like most about my job (Meeting new people)
~What did I not like about my job (How sometimes the place would become dead and empty, but I did my best to have fun and draw in customers while cleaning the place up.)
~Have I ever had experience with dealing with money?
~What were my favorite top roles that I wanted to work for?
~Did I have any public speaking experience?
~Would I mind speaking to a large audience of people?
~Would I mind working outdoors?
~Would I mind working at Merchandising?
~Would I mind working at Fast Food? (after this, I told her I was happy to work where ever and whatever they put me as. She sounded pleased and commented that it is so good that I am very flexible)
~Did I have any experience as a lifeguard or any qualifications?(told her how I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and how we had CPR training)
~Did I work as a CNA? (Yes, for training and for family, though I forgot to mention I worked at a nursing home, but she was hurrying up my interview and barely gave me time to answer)
~Did I have any experience with a cash register? (again Lol)
~Did I have a roommate? (Yes lol!)
~What do I not like in a roommate? (This is where I sorta flubbed, I think. I said I don't like it if they are messy, but I don't mind cleaning up, and it really doesnt bother me too much. @_@ I was getting nervous cause she was trying to hurry up the interview.)
~Any questions? (When accepted into the program, Is there going to be anyone waiting for me at the airport when I arrive? o_O)
~Have a magical day, thank you for the interview! (Thanks you too!! Thank you for the interview, Christy!)
*Happy Danced The Night Away After Hangging Up, then called my parents and facebooked the joyous event LOL*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Other people's questions differ. I'm suprised I wasn't asked questions about "What if a kid- yada yada," D: Don't know if that is a good thing or not!
